Laika Productions

Laika Productions is an independent film and music production company based in Athens, Greece.

Established in 2018 by Marina Danezi and Tasos Koronakis, our company has rapidly gained recognition for producing a diverse range of fiction films, documentaries, and TV series. With a strong focus on social issues and human rights, we aim to bring meaningful stories to audiences worldwide.

As a company, we constantly seek new collaborations with talented filmmakers, writers, musicians, and artists who share our vision. Our ultimate goal is to use the power of film and music to create positive change and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Marina Danezi

Director / Producer

Marina Danezi was born in 1982 in Athens. He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and theater at Dimitra Hatoupi’s “Delos” school. He worked as an actor in theater and cinema.

In 2008 she turned to directing with her first short documentary “The Time Pirate” receiving an Honorable Mention at the 2008 Digi Awards of the Drama Short Film Festival, while in 2009 “Faka” followed, her second short documentary. Afterwards, he made the first feature-length documentary, “The Scavengers Union “, which received an honorable mention at the 5th Chalkida Documentary Festival (the film was nominated in the category “Documentary of the year” by the Cinema Academy). The documentary “Sam Roma” (2014) is her second feature-length documentary.

In 2016, he completed directing the documentary by Nikos Triantafyllidis “PAOK 90 years: Nostalgondas to Mellon”, which was honored with the first prize from the Panhellenic Film Critics Association at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.

In recent years he has been producing films for cinema and television. In 2014, he took over the production of the documentary series “Ta Stekia – The Haunts: Stories of Vulgar Civilisation ” which began to be broadcast on NERIT and then on ERT, while she also directed most of the episodes of the series. In the cinema, he was the producer of the film “The sentimentalists” by the director Nikos Triantafyllidis (which has already participated in distinguished festivals abroad having received many awards) and of the award-winning documentary “PAOK 90 years: Nostalgandos to Mellon”.Along with directing and producing, Marina Danezi maintained the artistic direction for many years, while today she is responsible for the public relations of the Gagarin 205 Live Music Space, which hosts important personalities of the foreign and domestic music scene. At the same time, through Laika Productions, she also makes her own music productions with bands from Greece and abroad.

Tasos Koronakis

Producer / Production manager

Tasos Koronakis was born in September 1975 and grew up in Athens and Piraeus.

He began his studies at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras but eventually became more interested in public affairs and politics.

As part of his political engagement, he was a member of the political secretary of Syriza for almost 10  years, responsible for social movements and Organisational affairs, communications, and in charge of a series of electoral campaigns. He was the Secretary of Syriza’s Central Committee for a few months, resigning in July 2015, when he also left the party.

Following these, he took an active role in the Social Economy sector in the field of development, communications, marketing, and advertising. He has also a great experience in the production of large-scale events, conferences, cultural events, exhibitions, concerts, and festivals.

For the last 5 years, he is working as a production manager at Laika Productions having completed more than 70 episodes of documentaries in the series Ta Stekia (The Haunts) and “Kleinon Asty – Stories of the City” which were shown on state television (ERT). He has also taken part in dozens of projects of the company as a production manager.

Finally, he has been the production director in 3 short fiction films, in one of which he was also a co-producer, and in 2 documentaries, one short and one feature-length which are in the post-production phase, while he was executive producer on a short documentary.

He feels that this is the best job of his life.
